Coimbatore: Addressing the media in the city, Communist leader Nallakannu said, "The Tamil language is being undermined by all sectors in Tamil Nadu. Hence, people from other States are appointed as judges and job opportunities for Tamilians are being reduced in the State".

Nallakannu was critical of Minister Pandiarajan view about the civilization of Keezhadi. He alleged that the Minister was repeating what his higher officials had opined. He said it had been proved that the Keezhadi civilization was over 2000 years old.

"I have been protesting against the hydrocarbon project because it will affect the granary of Tamil Nadu," stated Nallakannu. When asked about the statement made by DMDK Premalatha about the Communist party obtaining Rs.15 crores from the DMK, Nallakannu clarified that it was normal to accept donation and since there is proper accounting for the cash, there is nothing wrong in doing so. He criticized the Centre for only propagating Gandhiji's "Clean Movement" and not focusing on non-religiousness, peace and non-violence.
